Florida youth movement taking shape

Already the youngest team in the league, Florida is looking for more of its prospects to make the jump to the NHL.

Summer camp is serious business in Florida where a handful of future Panthers are being groomed to make an impact later or perhaps help lead the team back to the playoffs in 2003-04.

Already the youngest team in the league, Florida is looking for more of its prospects to make the jump to the NHL this season. The hope is that while the rest of the team matures, some new blood will complement a young and hungry squad.

Panthers strength and conditioning coach Chris Reichart is grinding the prospects through a tough regimen this week through July 18 to get the youngsters ready for training camp in September and show them what kind of commitment is needed to reach the NHL.
