American League Anaheim Angels: General manager Bill Stoneman has been rewarded for bringing the big flag to Anaheim with a four-year contract. New owner Arturo Moreno vowed to keep Stoneman, 59, and has lived up to his word. Gabe Lacques of the Los Angeles Daily News has the details of the deal.
New York Yankees: Brandon Claussen is the kind of pitcher the Texas Rangers would want in exchange for somebody like Ugueth Urbina, writes Ken Daley of the Dallas Morning News, but manager Joe Torre does not want to see him moved. "He's a good, young left-handed pitcher and you'll never get value for him," said the Yankee skipper of Claussen.
