  • Jay Greenberg of the New York Post knows that Japanese fans stuffed the ballot box to get Hideki Matsui elected to the All Star team. He also thinks they got it right.

  • By and large, Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune thinks the players did a pretty good job with their All Star picks, that is, except for their failure to select Frank Thomas.

  • The late rally that sent Albert Pujols onto the All-Star starting team ahead of Sammy Sosa is Bernie Miklasz's topic in today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He credits internet voters with putting Pujols over the top.
