Eastern conference has itself to blame

Because of the failings by Eastern Conference front offices, the West is now utterly dominant.

This could be another story about tall, imposing guys like Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan on how the dominant West is so much better then the docile East because they have the better players.

But you already knew that.

Instead, this is a story about shorter guys sometimes wearing thick- rimmed glasses like Scott Layden, the general manager in New York, and others like him who turned this two conference structure from parity to parody.
