Conway hopes to beat out Vanderjagt

With the rift between Peyton Manning and Mike Vanderjagt seemingly settled, there would be no reason for Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy to release the opinionated kicker. That is, unless he gets outkicked by Brett Conway in camp. On the surface it doesn't seem like Conway has much of a chance. Vanderjagt restructured his contract with the team in February to open up some room under the salary cap. He was set to have a base salary of $1.4 million in 2003, but will now have a base salary of $530,000. Not to mention Vanderjagt's standing as the most accurate kicker in league history and the No. 3 scorer in club history with 598 points.
