Familiarity finally breeding contempt

One of the least-anticipated Stanley Cup Finals now has a chance to be remembered for its excitement, thanks to the Mighty Ducks and Devils playing in Monday night's decisive Game 7 at East Rutherford, N.J. Once left to be viewed mainly by Anaheim, New Jersey and hard-core hockey fans, hopefully the intensity, passion and desperation of a winner-take-all match will draw more casual fans. (And the company men of the Mighty Ducks deserve credit for helping out fellow Disney-owned entity ABC by forcing a Game 7.) Would overtime be asking too much for the final game of the toughest championship trophy to win in sports?
