Denver Broncos: Since health and age are two major concerns with the receiving corps, the team will workout WR J.J. Stokes today. WR Ed McCaffrey, 35, estimated he is only about 75 percent after hernia surgery, and the Broncos would like another experienced wideout on the roster. "We'll get a chance to talk to him, and we do that quite a bit with free agents," coach Mike Shanahan told the Rocky Mountain News, referring to the Stokes visit. "I don't know how close we are with him or where they're coming from. But he's a productive wide receiver and we'll get a chance to visit with him and him with us." Stokes, who lost his job to Tai Strets because of injuries and ineffectiveness, had 32 receptions for 332 yards and one touchdown last season. Other teams reportedly interested in the former UCLA star include Jacksonville, Detroit and the New York Jets.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Melissa Pittman, the wife of RB Michael Pittman, has retained a divorce lawyer following an incident in which he rammed his Hummer into her car. At the time of the incident, the couple's 2-year-old son was in the car, as well as the 18-year-old babysitter. Attorney Ed Brennan would not go into details about Melissa Pittman's plans but said a letter was sent to the Bucs on Thursday expressing his client's willingness to meet with team officials. "This is an intensely private matter, and Melissa hopes to have this resolved with the immediate family and the Buc family," Brennan told the St. Petersburg Times. "She wishes that it remains outside the media and public scrutiny."

San Francisco 49ers: WR Terrell Owens has been a non-entity this spring, but his agent assures that his absence has nothing to do with his client's alleged dissatisfaction with the status of his current contract. The belief that he's unhappy with his pay scale was exacerbated when he appeared on the Jim Rome show and said: "Compared to baseball and basketball I don't make enough money ... I'm not going to run out of money, but I still feel I'm underpaid." Agent David Joseph feels many misinterpreted Owens to mean the 49ers were underpaying him"I've looked at the interview five times," Joseph told the San Francisco Chronicle. "If you listen to what he said, it's very clear. He said he was underpaid compared to basketball and baseball, just like Jeff Garcia, Bryant Young and Jason Webster or any other player in football is underpaid." Joepsh then assured that Owens will report for the 49ers' July 25 training camp on time.
