New Jersey Nets: The NBA Finals may just be beginning, but the free agent frenzy may already be coming to an end if Jason Kidd's wife has anything to say about it. "Once we made it through the playoffs and now we're in The Finals, a little bit of that queasiness is gone," Joumana Kidd told the NY Post. "Now I'm feeling the chances are even stronger. I don't want to move. I don't want to pack up the house and move. Any NBA wife can relate to it, having to start over with the kids."

Center Dikembe Mutombo is still lobbying to get off the milk carton and on the floor. "I can't picture myself just sitting on the bench in an NBA championship for 48 minutes of basketball," Mutombo told the Rocky Mountain News. "I don't see that. I'm feeling very confident that I will play." New Jersey head coach Byron Scott, though, isn't so sure. "As far as how much Dikembe will play, I can't answer that," Scott said. "I'm going to stick with the same rotation I've stuck with throughout the playoffs, but there's a chance he could play."

San Antonio Spurs: After several stops on a bumpy road that led to the NBA, Stephen Jackson was finally hired by the New Jersey Nets and then fired by the New Jersey Nets after their coach questioned his work habits and said he'd never crack their starting line up. "They are a great team," Jackson said in the San Antonio Express News, "but when someone says something about me, I never forget about that." Tonight, that same player gets to play against that same coach but for different teams. "I'm going to be jumping up and down and bouncing like a Ping-Pong ball," said Jackson. "I need to come down and stay focused and not get caught up in the hype."
