LOS ANGELES -- The amount of talent in California is staggering. Not only did I have to split the state in two, but I have to divide Southern California also. I will probably invite from 10-15 players in the area to this year's U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio. From quarterbacks to linemen, some of the best prospects in the country reside in Southern California. We'll focus on the offensive side of the ball today.
QB Rocky Hinds (6-5, 215) is one of the best players in the entire country. He's a fabulous athlete as a passer and runner. While not refined as a passer, he has unlimited potential. It looks like a USC and UCLA battle for his services.
QB Rudy Carpenter (6-3, 190) from Westlake Village from has been overshadowed by Rocky Hinds. He threw for over 3,200 yards last year, has a good arm and is a good athlete. He has no offers yet. That really surprises me because I think he's one of the better QBs in the West.
