Seattle Mariners: With interleague play in National
League parks looming, Edgar Martinez has to take a
powder writes Larry Larue of the Tacoma News Tribune.
Batting average, slugging average, on base percentage,
runs batted in, walks --artinez leads the club in all
those things but the Phillies and Mets will not have
to worry about him this week other than as a pinch
hitter deluxe.
Texas Rangers: Texas starters have surrendered the
most walks in the American League and it's getting to
manager Buck Showalter, writes Ken Daley in today's
Dallas Morning News. Meanwhile, there is no word from
the Rangers as to the disposition of their would-be
ace, Chan Ho Park. When last seen, Park was continuing
his rehab assignment in Oklahoma City.
