Breaking down the ultimate pitcher
Jamie Moyer is definitely not a power pitcher, but the radar gun can't measure the rest of his game.

It seems like Mariners starter Jamie Moyer has been pitching forever. One of the things I've always admired about him is that he's the ultimate pitcher. He would not be drafted in today's game because he doesn't throw hard enough and is not a big guy, but he goes out there and wins, always making the critical pitches at critical points in the game.
Moyer doesn't put up big numbers on the radar gun, but that never measures movement on the ball, how well a pitcher hides the ball or how he varies his pitches, and Jamie is terrific in all three of those areas.
