Now we've got a series.

The real Ottawa Senators finally showed up Monday night and beat New Jersey 3-1 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals. We'll have to wait until Wednesday night to see if they can do it again to force a decisive Game 7.

Ottawa has been making a habit of being fashionably late in each series. In the first round against the New York Islanders, it took until Game 2 after a 3-0 loss in Game 1. The Senators won in five games. In round two, the Flyers matched the Senators for four games before Ottawa took control and closed out Philadelphia with convincing victories in Games 5 and 6 (5-2 and 5-1).
