San Jose Sharks: The team will name Doug Wilson as its new general manager today, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Wilson, the director of pro development for the Sharks, was the only in-house candidate and San Jose's first captain.

Montreal Canadiens: Contrary to reports, captain Saku Koivu won't be leaving Montreal. Habs GM Andre Savard denied a report saying the team might be willing to trade the Finnish star.

New York Rangers: He was so unstable as a young skater that he was nicknamed the Zamboni for always sliding along the ice, but Rangers right winger Anson Carter has picked himself up quite nicely to become Canada's latest hockey hero for his overtime goal in the gold medal game of the 2003 World Ice Hockey Championships.
