American League Detroit Tigers: Tom Gage of the Detroit News writes
that the team's mood was excellent on Monday -- and
that was before it went out and won its second
straight game. It is the first win streak for the team
so far in 2003.
New York Yankees: Jose Contreras is set to make
another start for the Columbus Clippers. It will come
on Friday against the Rochester Redwings, reports Jim
Mandelaro of the Rochester Globe & Democrat. Another
ticket selling point for the Wings that night might be
the presence of Derek Jeter in the Clippers lineup,
although it appears much more likely that he will do
his minor league rehab assignment in Trenton, the
Yankees Double A affiliate.
