Denver Broncos: Denver beat out Green Bay in the rush to get Colorado State RB Cecil Sapp. Sapp was slated to be a mid-round pick, but went undrafted. "We had him ranked pretty high and I thought he was an excellent, excellent runner, especially an inside runner, so I thought he'd fit in well with our scheme," coach Mike Shanahan told the Denver Post. "We're glad to have him."

Cleveland Browns: Coach Butch Davis revealed Sunday that RB Less Suggs, the team's fourth-round pick, must undergo shoulder surgery and likely will miss the entire season. "It's not too different that maybe what the Buffalo Bills did with Willis McGahee," Davis told the Roanoke Times. But not yet ready to concede season-ending surgery, Suggs said no decision will be made until after he reports to Browns headquarters Friday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: With the selection of QB Chris Simms in the third round, there are now six quarterbacks on the roster. But With their only mandatory minicamp this weekend, the it's likely that the Bucs will cut at least one of them, possibly as early as today. ``There's a chance we won't have six quarterbacks when we go to minicamp,'' coach Jon Gruden told the Tampa Tribune. ``A roster move obviously is in the mix here, [and] it will be made very shortly.'' The odd man out is probably QB Greg Zolman, the Vanderbilt product who was signed as a free agent Jan. 31 ...The Bucs signed undrafted free agent P Andy Groom out of Ohio State.
