Baltimore Orioles: Is it a blessing or a curse to be
versatile? Ask Melvin Mora of the Orioles. Roch
Kubatko reports that he has been playing all over the
map as manager Mike Hargrove tries to keep his hot bat
in the lineup.
New York Yankees: I count myself among the many who
believe that Drew Henson does not have a future in
major league baseball. There is no indication from his
minor league performance that he will ever be anything
like a productive big leaguer. He also has no future
with the Houston Texans, the team that drafted him in
the 6th round of this past weekend's NFL draft. Which
isn't to say he doesn't have a future somewhere in
the NFL. It just isn't with Houston, what with David
Carr in the fold, writes Brent Zwerneman of the San
Antonio Express News.
Seattle Mariners: The Tacoma News-Tribune has a
regular feature in which they profile various Mariners
farmhands. This time around it's Michael Garciaparra,
Nomar's younger brother. He's only 20 but has had his
career derailed somewhat by a torn ACL.
