Having one of your pitchers toss a no-hitter is
definitely not a guarantee that your team is headed
for anything like success. After all, Bobo Holloman
had one with the 1953 St. Louis Browns and they lost
100 games. Johnny Vander Meer threw two in a row for
the 1938 Reds and they finished in fourth place.
