Draft: Attorneys Joseph Rocco and C. Clint Sorenson issued a news release Wednesday blaming Terrell Suggs for the March 29 violence outside a basketball tourney at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The pair contends the defensive end became involved in a heated exchange with several men. They allege that Suggs handed a baseball bat to his younger brother, Donald, and said, "Swing this bat to kill, not to injure." They contend Terrell Suggs then punched one of their clients, 145-pound J.C. Cook, breaking his nose, and held down Cook's friend, Anthony Henry, while he was struck with a steel bar "It is very ironic they're coming out with this three days before the draft after I was told they requested $2 million or they would go to the press," Gary Wichard, Suggs' agent, told the Arizona Republic. "To me, that's what this whole thing is about. For them to go to the media with this, it seems coincidental with trying to defame Terrell, who's never had a problem with the law, and to hurt Terrell's draft status."

Chicago Bears: The club called Louisville product Dave Ragone at the beginning of this week to set up a private meeting for today and sent quarterbacks coach Greg Olson down to watch the left-hander throw. "I was surprised they called, but pleasantly surprised," Ragone told the Chicago Tribune. "I'm not sure. It could mean one of two things. They could be really interested or they could be trying to throw off other teams."
