American League Boston Red Sox: How many words were expended on the struggles of the Red Sox bullpen in the first two
weeks of the season? Like the number of grains of sand
on the world's beaches, that is a figure that is
not knowable. For now, anyway, the fusillade has
subsided as the Sox relief unit has found itself. Sean
McAdam of the Providence Journal writes that the Boston bullpen has not surrendered a run in its last 13 1/3 innings and
all appears to be going as planned.
Detroit Tigers: "Well we're 1-16 "Yup. That's about the size of it." Tom Gage of the Detroit News reports
that team president Dave Dombrowski is flying to
Oakland to meet with manager Alan Trammell so they can
assess the team's situation.
