Thome's NL transition a quick one

Jim Thome, 1B, Philadelphia Phillies

Even though he's an All Star, the surprise is that he's adapted so well, so early to the National League. First of all, he's a notoriously slow starter. And second, power hitters usually take some time to get adjusted to a new league.

People (in the NL) thought they could throw fastballs by him, and they're finding out they can't. They better start mixing it up on him. Because they still throw more fastballs in the NL, this might be a better league for him. But I wouldn't be surprised to see his homers go down somewhat.
