Born: Dec. 16, 1981 (Livingston, N.J.) Size: Six feet, 190 pounds Key Stats: 10.9 points, 6.3 assists, 2.1 steals per game The 2001-02 Big East Player of the Year was the preseason pick to repeat in 2002-03. But a knee injury from last year's conference tourney forced Brandin Knight to the sideline last summer, and eventually under the knife. Knight's lack of conditioning -- he spent seven months out of action -- contributed to a dramatic decline in nearly all his numbers. Despite the drop-off, Pittsburgh lost just four games, something Panthers coach Ben Howland attributes to Knight's maturity and poise at the point. Now, as his college career comes to a close, can the "Einstein of point guards" (as Howland calls him) push the Panthers beyond the Sweet 16 and into the fourth dimension of college hoops?
