Gary Payton has played in 999 games for the Seattle
Sonics, scoring 18,207 points and handing out 7,384
assists while nabbing 2,107 steals and drilling 917
three-pointers.
Tonight, in familiar Key Arena in the only city he has
ever known as home as a 13-year veteran of the
National Basketball Association, he will watch and
wait to play game No. 1,000 as a Milwaukee Buck.
