Chris Webber bends over, hands on knees, cozying up to the woman next to him. The fourth quarter is about to start and ARCO Arena is its usual packed-to-the-rafters raucous madhouse, but he's creating an intimate moment here. He wants her to feel as if they have a special connection, a reason to trust each other. "You know," he says softly, flashing the big puppy-dog eyes that even Tyra Banks couldn't resist, "he really is pushing me." The woman cocks her head and studies his face. A girl from Compton learns real quick to see the scam beneath the charm. "Really?" she asks.
