Callahan saw this one coming

SAN DIEGO -- Back in May of 2002, when his favorite alum had been a rookie member of the NFL head coaching fraternity for just three months, John Ostrowski, athletic director at Illinois Benedictine University, picked up the phone in his office and heard the voice of Bill Callahan on the other end. "He basically said they had been through some mini-camps, or some such thing, and he felt like they had a good team," Ostrowski recalled Monday. "He said, and I remember this vividly, 'You know, I think we have a shot to go all the way to the Super Bowl.' And now, look, there they are."
