Are Yao's expectations too tall?

With the holiday season upon us, parents across the world soon will have their good little girls and boys asking for the latest "prized possessions" as gifts. Perhaps some well-behaved adolescents will be opening up a new basketball video game for their Xbox, Playstation 2, or Nintendo Gamecube. And as the little angels check out all the features of their new game, they undoubtedly will turn to the "Create A Player" feature, where they just might seek out to create an 8-foot monster that can hit the three. But, seriously, how many 8-footers can hit a three? Considering no player above 7-foot-7 has played in the NBA, probably none. But that time perhaps is not too far off&

This season, the NBA welcomed Yao Ming (7-foot-5) into the fold. Ming becomes the ninth player who is 7-foot-4 or taller ever to gain the spotlight of the NBA.
