For almost a half century, the national letter of intent has sealed the deal for hotshot high school jocks to play in college. But increasingly, the NLI and its restrictions are coming under fire. One such restriction, which forces athletes to sit out a year if they back out of their commitment, has some people suggesting the document may even be illegal.
