Last year Sal Selvaggio from madduxsports.com and I created a college hoops betting stat called the Sweat Barometer. The idea was simple: Tell fans, degenerates, casual bettors and people with an affinity for numbers how good a gamble the highest profile teams in college basketball really are.
For example, last season, Kansas was the consensus best team in the country most of the regular season. But if you were someone who liked betting the Jayhawks, well, you were in for some drama. On average, according to the Sweat Barometer, the Jayhawks covered their games by only 0.2 points per game. We called this new tool the Sweat Barometer because, well, when you bet you tend to sweat.
