Week 7 of the 2009 NFL season. Across The Strip, sports books lost a combined $8 million as favorites cashed again and again and again and again and, well, you get the idea. It was the exclamation point on an unprecedented, season-long run by favorites that, up until that point, had veteran bookmakers scratching their heads. They knew it wouldn't last -- the more people win, the more they believe they'll win again -- but they had to do something to stem the flow of cash heading out the door.
