When I got the BALLS Index ranking from Sal at madduxsports.com last night, it looked a lot like it has the past few weeks: Texas is on top, extending its lead over Florida. In third is Boise State, which is getting more respect from bookmakers and bettors than it is from the BCS computers. Even Oklahoma, which isn't even in the AP Top 25, is still hanging in at No. 9. That's a testament to how dominant the Sooners were expected to be when the season began, not of how good they actually are.
