How forecasters overhyped Canada

At the start of Thursday's competition, Canadian athletes had earned just 15 medals in Vancouver, a bitter disappointment for the host country's extensive initiatives to dominate these Olympic Games. "Own the Podium" has turned into "Blown the Podium."

But the Canadian Olympic Committee was hardly alone in overestimating its athletes' chances in 2010. These Games have been equally awful for medal forecasters:
