The Masters: Final-round virtual caddie
If Tiger is to make a run Sunday, No. 7 is where it needs to begin
Yesterday, I ate a little crow -- but man, did it taste good. I said no one would reach 10 under, but we saw Lee Westwood get to 12 under and Phil Mickelson to 11 under. It was one of the most amazing Saturdays in the history of this place. The pins were as tough as they can be, but the weather was pristine and the golf was magical.
At the conclusion of his round of 67, Mickelson predicted how he thought the course would be set up for the final round. "I think the course is going to be set up [so that] the pins that are left I think are birdie pins," he said. "I think we are going to have some excitement tomorrow, a real shootout. There's a lot of guys that are still in this, even though it looks like they are 5, 6 shots back; there's some low rounds out there. We have seen it in the past."
It looks as if Mickelson was right about those pins. Have a look and see what Augusta's own Charles Howell III thinks about the setup for Sunday. We'll also let CH3 provide his swing thought for each tee shot. All the quotes below are from him unless otherwise noted.
Want to know the deal with all 18 holes and weather conditions in Augusta for Sunday's final round? Of course you do -- it's a handy guide as you watch the proceedings unfold. To get it all, though, you must be an ESPN Insider. Dive in; this stuff is informatively epic.
