They were one of the Eastern Conference's best teams the first two months of the season, winning 20 of their first 32 games, but the New York Rangers seem to have fallen into their typical midseason swoon, right around the holidays. The leaders in the Atlantic Division on Dec. 10 with 44 points, the Rangers have since won just two of their last eight games, falling six points behind the Philadelphia Flyers in the division race.

Of course, with a 22-12-6 record, good for second in the division and fifth in the conference, New York is still a threatening NHL team and one full of fantasy options. With leading scorer Jaromir Jagr (61), the Rangers aren't in much danger of dropping entirely off the map anytime soon. But based on past history, anytime New York hits the skids, there's reason to worry about the team's long-term prospects.
