Johnny Manziel didn't make my list of home run sleepers because he can't be considered a sleeper (because of his high profile), regardless of where he is being selected in fantasy football draft rooms.
But that doesn't mean that he lacks fantasy value. With the Cleveland Browns starting QB job still up the air, let's take a look at Manziel's fantasy value.
Here are four reasons he could surpass expectations:
Rushing points can add up in a hurry in fantasy football
Cam Newton's NFL career offers an illustration of just how impactful rushing totals can be to a quarterback's fantasy point total. Over the past three seasons, Newton has tallied only 592 fantasy points via the passing game. That ranks 12th among quarterbacks and is actually less than what wide receiver Calvin Johnson tallied in this time frame (679 points).
Johnny Manziel might be the best backup QB option in fantasy football. KC Joyner explains why Johnny Football has a high fantasy ceiling.
