The perfect fantasy playoff roster

It might have been just a few instances, but a handful of fantasy owners somewhere out there started Josh Gordon, Eric Decker and Alshon Jeffery in Week 13, a trio that virtually guaranteed victory with a combined 115 points, an astronomical total for any three players.

Call it a perfect wide receiver and flex lineup.

But striking such gold in fantasy football is tough -- nearly impossible in some cases -- with the unpredictability each Sunday brings.

However, with the aid of numberFire's metrics, the perfect lineup for the rest of this season -- four weeks of playoffs in some ESPN.com leagues -- can be projected.

Let's have a look:

Manning

Quarterback: Peyton Manning (TPS: 27)

Why he fits: No need to overthink this one, as Manning is on pace for yet another NFL MVP and, if such an award existed, he'd be a top contender for the MVP of fantasy football. The Broncos have a difficult matchup in Week 14 going against the stingy Titans secondary, but Manning has shown himself virtually immune to any matchup considerations this season, scoring at least 20 points in nine of his 12 games. He has rematches with the Raiders and Chargers in the season's final four weeks. In two previous matchups, he racked up a cozy 51 combined points.

Honorable mention: Drew Brees (18), Cam Newton (16), Matthew Stafford (13), Tom Brady (12), Philip Rivers (12)
