Week 14: Waiver Wire Work
Brian Griese, QB, Bears (Owned in 1.6 percent of ESPN.com leagues): Lovie Smith might be repeating that Rex Grossman is his starter in public, but no matter how many times he says it, we shouldn't believe it. If the Bears are about to make a quarterback change, which would be fully understandable, Smith is not going to let his opponents know ahead of time if he doesn't have to. Smith can't expect the defense to continue to carry the team, and Griese was acquired as veteran insurance in case Grossman struggled or suffered an injury this season. He's definitely struggling, and Griese is a solid, experienced game manager who could post good fantasy totals with quality receivers and a solid running game to support him. He could take over for Grossman very soon, so be ready.
