Engel's Mailbag: Trade and Lineup Advice
Engel: I see you have a tie on your record. I feel your frustration. They never seem to quite work in my favor when it comes to the final week and I'm fighting for a playoff spot. Yet I'm hoping for better luck for you. David Carr is expected to start for Carolina, which is disappointing with how well Delhomme had played early on. Bulger has suffered through one down outing, really, as his first two starts were not bad at all. His ribs are bruised, not broken, according to recent reports in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Yet he has lost his starting running back and his offensive line is crumbling. Against Dallas, though, his receivers could get open often and the Rams could build good passing numbers playing from behind. Griese will be a solid game manager, and will add more balance to the Chicago offense. It's good you added him because he can at least provide you with respectable totals, but I believe it's too soon to start him yet. Give Bulger one more shot, and I compliment you for adding Griese, who will at least be steady.
Grant, Kansas City, Mo.: I have a trade in the works, sending Cedric Benson for Tony Romo. I have Drew Brees and he needs a viable second running back, so this would help us both. Do you think this is a fair trade?
