The bye week can often be a gift from the fantasy football gods—especially for any fantasy general managers facing a team that has Julius Jones (44 points in 2008), Calvin Johnson (38 points), Reggie Wayne (36 points) or Joseph Addai (29 points over the last two weeks) idle this week.
But there is also the Wally Pipp-type of benefit, in that bye weeks sometimes force fantasy GMs to take chances on high-upside bench players they wouldn't start otherwise. This week's matchups highlight many strong candidates of this nature. In other words, if you have any of these players on your roster, bow and give thanks to the fantasy football pantheon!
