Matt, Milwaukee: I have to choose between Larry Fitzgerald, Carson Palmer and Donovan McNabb for my final keeper spot. I'm already keeping LaDainian Tomlinson and Clinton Portis. We use one quarterback, two running backs and three wide receivers.
Engel: Palmer or McNabb could stabilize your QB position for some time, but Fitzgerald is an elite talent who should be one of the best players at his position for many years. He's a complete receiver with size, quickness, smarts and the desire and ability to make all the important catches. Considering how many receivers you use in your league, a top-level wideout is a more valuable player. Your RB combo is already set, and you should be able to get at least a decent QB with one of your first two draft choices. In fact, you could get a chance to draft Palmer or McNabb again after tossing them back into the player pool. Keep Fitzgerald, and draft a QB and another top WR in the first two rounds.
Gene, Calverton, N.Y.: I am in a keeper league in which you can retain three players. I have LaDainian Tomlinson, Tiki Barber, Torry Holt, Chad Johnson and Ronnie Brown. I have been offered the eighth overall pick in exchange for Barber. What do you think? I could then keep Brown, Tomlinson and Holt.
