It's that time of year when anticipation begins to grow, and the pulse begins to quicken among fantasy football owners. Training camp is upon us, and with it comes more glimpses of what we might expect during the upcoming year. There will be position battles to monitor, players to watch, and eager fantasy players will break down every little piece of news. Here are some main topics and trends to watch as NFL teams begin to work out in preparation for a season that can never seem to get here quickly enough.

The rookie RBs: When will they report, and how will they fit in? Cedric Benson and Carnell Williams still must earn the right to play often. It won't simply be handed to them. J.J. Arrington must show he can handle the duties of a feature back, and Ronnie Brown has the Ricky Williams circus with which to contend. The preseason will be a time when all four players must take major steps towards earning quality playing time. Holding out will adversely affect the progress of any RB, as they must learn the playbook and more than just carrying the ball.

The Atlanta passing game: Can anyone step up as a reliable target for Michael Vick, other than Alge Crumpler? The Falcons are hoping Michael Jenkins can take a step forward, and rookie Roddy White is confident and has some big-play potential. It will be interesting to see if Vick starts to lock on to someone other than Crumpler, because he needs to.
