Week 9 fantasy projections
Under increased scrutiny, Michael Vick will benefit from favorable matchup
One of the biggest conundrums facing fantasy owners this week (and this season) is what to do with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. Having long since dropped from a must-start QB1, you could make a legitimate case that Vick could be dropped from fantasy teams this week.
Andy Reid seemed to be facing the same decision, as Vick hinted at a possible QB change before retaining his starting job.
While Reid's future in Philly may be linked to his starting quarterback, fantasy players have no such loyalty. So what should you do with Vick if he's on your roster? Let's examine that question and look at the best and worst fantasy matchups for Week 9:
Quarterbacks
Michael Vick (plus-3 points)
Some of you may have noticed that I pay particular attention to fish-or-cut-bait moments for underachieving players. My reasons are two-fold. First, I absolutely detest lineup uncertainty. I like my job setting the lineup on Sunday to be relatively easy. It gives me indigestion to have to resort to playing matchups with a player like Vick who should theoretically be my clear-cut starter. Second, fish-or-cut-bait games give my emotions a rational cover. "Vick is killing my team. Oh, and he can't even put up a big game against the 30th-ranked defense? Yeah, time to end this relationship."
