There are many ways to go about being a successful fantasy football owner, but over the years I have found two factors that separate the good from the great: long-term planning and effective matchup targeting. The most extreme examples involve those fanatics who plan for fantasy championship matchups as early as the draft, but the results don't lie -- these are more often than not the ones who end up hoisting the trophy at the end of the year.
