Fantasy defenses occupy a unique position in the waiver world. GMs make waiver claims for other positions to add depth or the occasional spot start, but just about every defensive waiver pickup is done with an eye towards filling a starting role that week.
This increased interest makes it harder to land a good fantasy defense most weeks, but it will be even tougher this week with three of the top 10 scorers at this position (Chicago, Green Bay and Minnesota) on byes. Because of this, I focused on identifying as many quality sleeper candidates as possible.
