Notebook: Turner staying put?
The San Diego Union-Tribune has reported that the Chargers have ended all trade talks regarding Michael Turner. "It's over," Chargers general manager A.J. Smith said. "I didn't want to be fooling around with this until October."
The Titans and Packers are two teams that still don't have ideal situations at running back. The Chargers reportedly received offers of first-round picks for Turner, but wanted more. It's not out of the question that a better offer could not pry Turner away from the Chargers before the season starts. If Tennessee and Green Bay can't make a serious play for Turner again this year, both teams certainly could acquire another veteran running back to bolster their running back situations. The Titans are especially shaky at running back right now. They certainly can't be comfortable with having LenDale White and rookie Chris Henry as their top two at the position right now.
