The rumors and speculation are flying as the NFL Draft gets closer, and fantasy leaguers can only wonder how things will ultimately turn out, especially in the first round. Until the actual day of the draft, there will be a lot of questions about how the top-10 picks turn out, where the top offensive players ultimately end up and what it all means from the fantasy perspectives.

The heaviest speculation surrounds the No.1 overall selection. The Raiders have a great need at quarterback, but there have been reports that Oakland is reluctant to pass on a possible superstar like Calvin Johnson. Oakland has reportedly been trying to acquire Detroit's backup quarterback, Josh McCown. If that deal goes through, Oakland would likely draft Johnson, trade Randy Moss and then possibly take a quarterback with their second selection, perhaps Stanford's Trent Edwards.

Oakland already has some potentially productive wide receivers in Ronald Curry and Jerry Porter, and drafting JaMarcus Russell with the top-pick would fill an obvious need and Oakland could still draft a potential standout receiver like Robert Meachem (if he falls) or Sidney Rice to begin the second round. There is also the possibility Moss could enjoy being around for the beginning of the Russell era. If not, he will be dealt, and either scenario points to a boost in motivation and production for Moss. A change of scenery could ultimately be best for him.
