It has been a rumor for some time now. Still, as several contradicting published reports have surfaced, Trent Green's future destination remains uncertain. Earlier this week, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that the Dolphins are set to make another run at acquiring Green, and a trade could be completed as soon as this week. Other published reports, however, have indicated the Dolphins and Chiefs still need to resolve the details of the potential trade. Miami has been reportedly offering a second-day draft choice most recently, and Kansas City wants a higher pick to finalize the deal.

The Sentinel reported that Green and the Dolphins have already come to terms on the structure of a new contract, yet other reports indicate the Chiefs could stand firm in their demand for a higher choice to the point where they could be willing to keep Green. The veteran quarterback, however, openly wants out of Kansas City, and the Chiefs seem set to move on without him. The Browns now appear to be out of the running for Green's services, so it simply might be a matter of the Dolphins giving in to surrendering a higher draft choice to finally stabilize the quarterback position. If it occurrs, the transaction might not go through until draft weekend.

From a fantasy perspective, Green should continue to be an adequate, but not outstanding fantasy starter if he gets the job with Miami. He would have the support of a solid running game and potentially more productive wide receivers than he had in Kansas City. Green simply has to stay healthy, and he can certainly be the missing piece needed to make the Miami offense more respectable.
