FFL: Offseason Notebook: Chief QB Shakeup?

It now seems to be just a matter of time before Trent Green leaves Kansas City, possibly for Miami. The Kansas City Star recently reported that the Dolphins want Green, and Green wants to go to South Florida, but the two teams are far apart in terms of agreeing on compensation. Green could be a decent fantasy starter with the Dolphins, as he will have a respectable duo of wide receivers, Chris Chambers and Marty Booker, and good support from the running game. Green is still capable of being an adequate fantasy option no matter where he lands. The Dolphins' sincere interest in him possibly indicates Daunte Culpepper is still likely far away from regaining optimum playing form and he's very likely a high-risk pick for 2007. If the Dolphins can't come to terms on a deal with Kansas City for Green, the veteran passer will probably seek out another new home, while Miami could consider the recently released David Carr. A change of scenery can certainly boost Carr's outlook again, but there have also been reports he could end up in Oakland, where he would be nothing more than a stopgap option until JaMarcus Russell is ready to start. Carr still has the potential to be a pretty good fantasy player, but his value will obviously hinge on where he lands next.
