We continue our look back at the 2006 season and ahead to 2007 with an overview of the all-important running back position. Here are my fantasy awards for RBs for '06, plus early rankings and the outlook for the position for '07.

The 2006 Fantasy Running Back Awards

RB of the Year: This one won't surprise anyone. If you were lucky enough to draft LaDainian Tomlinson, you probably rode his career season deep into your fantasy playoffs. I say "lucky" because many fantasy owners weren't fortunate enough to have one of the first three draft choices in '06. Tomlinson scored 418 ESPN.com fantasy points, 100 more than any other player. His outstanding performances often shielded his owners from some other bad luck and still led the way to many victories.
