FFL: Late-Season Myths
Myth: Jon Kitna is a good fantasy starter: The truth is, Kitna used to be a very good fantasy starter, but that was earlier this season. Kitna has not thrown more than one TD pass in a game since Week 7, and he has 10 total turnovers in his past three games. Kitna has not scored more than 10 ESPN.com fantasy points in a game since Week 9. Kitna has always been erratic and turnover-prone, and opposing defenses have clearly figured him out. Don't give him any more starting consideration during your playoffs.
Myth: You can't rely on Brett Favre: The reality is, Favre suffered through a tough three-game stretch recently, as he totaled only 19 fantasy points from Weeks 11 through 13. He threw five interceptions in the two games prior to this Sunday. But Favre rebounded with a 21-point outing against the 49ers this week, throwing for 293 yards and no interceptions. From Weeks 5 through 11 Favre only threw two interceptions, and he has the Lions and Vikings next on his schedule. You don't need a superstar quarterback to win your fantasy championship, and Favre can certainly fling the ball productively enough over the next two games to help you win a title.
