This week, we feature a special edition of our position notebooks, combining running backs and wide receivers as we look ahead to the fantasy postseason.
As the fantasy playoffs approach, it's time to plan for possible injuries, benchings, or changes in playing time for certain players. Some Colts, as we all well know, could sit out during the final game or two of the season. And it's a good idea to have the NFL backup of your top starter on your roster in the event that he gets injured. It's time to drop players like Lee Evans or J.J. Arrington in hopes that they might reach their potential late in the year. Get rid of undependable players like Joe Jurevicius and Jerome Bettis. Make room for these running backs or wide receivers who could be helpful during the most important weeks of the fantasy season: The playoffs. If they're not available as free agents, it's worth it to make a last-minute pitch for these guys before your trading deadline.
