New - Kevin Jones: Jones is recovering from offseason foot surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury and his progress is naturally slow. In December, he tore the ligaments that support the middle of the foot, ligaments that are important for pushing-off when running. The biggest issue for Jones is making sure he doesn't rush his return. If the Lions allow him to take the necessary time to regain his form, (and their off-season acquisitions suggest they will), he could have a strong finish to the season. There is also less likelihood of complications or setbacks if he tests the foot gradually. Plan to have a backup at the start of the season but Jones should be a second-half contributor.
